Mother’s saying don’t go,
children crying,
faces going,
mud flying,
bombs killing,
bodies lying,
people trying their best,
everyone hiding from the Germans.

Our web page was featured by a historian on Twitter on Sunday evening. I actually received a message on Twitter that said: “‏I liked Meadow’s War Poem. It does give some indication of why we fought WWI.”
