A Range Rover as white as snow,
an undiscovered person,
the first bite of a red hot spicy masala
a jumping hurdler,
Hermione from Harry Potter,
I can predict the future.
Cooler than Bruno Mars
Hotter than boys.

School uniform is something that divides opinion. Before Mounts went off to Croft Farm we wrote a letter to the incoming Headteacher to express our opinions and persuade her that the school uniform should be kept or scrapped:

Lot’s of interesting things have arrived in the classroom this week. Here are some examples of History projects from Mounts.
Dear Diary,
Today I signed up for the war. This is what happened.
I walked down to the town hall and I signed up while my sister was signing up to work in the factory.
I got my uniform and a shilling and I was told to get changed straight away if I wanted to be one of the soldiers walking round the town.
My sister made me do it because she didn’t want me her brother to be someone with a white feather. I was OK and excited at the time especially about the shilling, but now I’m really scared.
When I was marching it was embarasing but it was worth the shilling, especially because it was Billy, Nick, Joe and me.

Yesterday we wrote a list poem, using ideas from Pie Corbett and Paul Cookson’s ‘When the Teacher Turns Their Back’ as an example. Our version doesn’t rhyme. Here are some of the best examples collected into a group poem:
When the Teacher Turns His Back – Louisa paints the pirate flag bright pink, Meadow does the Mobot, after triumphantly winning the ‘Penguin Race’, Lizzie, thinking she is Spiderwoman, climbs the walls and swings on the projector, Katy feeds Skye’s snack to her orange hairy monster, Luke jumps from the table, grabs on to the pirate flag saying “Aha, I’m Jack Sparrow”, The whole class move the tables to a boxing ring and take it in turns to have fist fights, William turns into a zombie and eats everyone’s heads, Alex falls asleep in the stock cupboard. They only spent a day with us at the end of last term, but let’s all give a proper welcome today to Mounts 2012-13:
Will, Amelia, Katy, Libby, Harry, Skye, Izobella, Lizzie, Louis, Alex, Cameron, Thea, Fin, Luke, Cerys, Melody, Xavi, Louisa, Maddie, Meadow, Jessica, Evie, Freddie, Abi and Fin.
We hope to display some of their learning journey along the way in Year 5 on this web site. I can’t wait to see where our imaginations take us this year …..
